Specialisterne Foundation’s board consists of:
Chairman: Mr. Thorkil Sonne is the founder and chairman of Specialisterne Foundation and Specialisterne. Thorkil first became involved in autism when his son Lars was diagnosed with infantile autism in 1999. He became active in the Danish Autism Society, eventually leaving his Technical Director position in an IT start-up company to establish Specialisterne in 2003. Thorkil has since become a recognized leader in social entrepreneurship, and was named an Ashoka Fellow in 2009 and a Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneur in 2012. He is now based in the United States where he is driving the expansion of the Specialisterne model.
Mr. V.R. Ferose (Independent). V R Ferose is a Senior Vice President and Head of Globalization Services at SAP SE, based out of Palo Alto. He is responsible for the global reach of SAP Products. He is passionate about making a difference in the world in a meaningful way. He started the industry’s leading Autism initiative, “Autism at Work”. He gives a guest lecture at Columbia University on the topic of “Personal Leadership”. Ferose is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader.
Mr. William E. Hoover (Independent). Former Director at McKinsey & Company, Nordic Region, Bill Hoover has 30 years of experience in consulting global industrials and telecom-related companies. His speciality areas are China, supply chain and performance transformation. Bill has a degree in Mathematics and English from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard.
Mr. Lars Henriksen (Independent). Independent Management Consultant Lars Henriksen has been on Specialisterne Foundation board since its formation. Henriksen is a former Managing Partner at Accenture, Nordic and has during his more than 30 years as a consultant worked and lived outside Denmark for over 25 years. He holds several positions as a board member and an investor in start-up companies, and is an advisor to the MBA programme at Copenhagen Business School.
Mr. John Craven, Chairman of the Board in Specialisterne Centre Australia. John is Managing Director of Craven Innovation a boutique consulting firm that assists clients to harness technology to achieve real results through business innovation. Working with senior executives and boards of directors, Craven Innovation identifies innovation opportunities, establishes and directs programs to implement them and develops business strategies to drive transformation and deliver value. It also assists to implement effective Governance over the technology agenda. With more than 40 years’ experience in management consulting and information technology, John has worked with Australian and Asian clients within the communications industry as well as in government, banking, manufacturing and distribution.
Mr Ramon Bernat, CEO Specialisterne Spain. With more than 35 years of experience starting and consolidating businesses, he focuses his work on high-impact entrepreneurship, mainly in projects related to autism. President of Fundation Planeta Imaginario, commited to supporting children with autism and their families, he is leading the implementation and development of Specialisterne in Spain and Latam and he is a member of Specialisterne Foundation Board. Ramon is also member of Fundation Ship2B Board, an accelerator of high social impact businesses and holds several positions as a board member in various companies and organizations.
